For 20 to 30 cigars, a desktop humidor is the right type: flat, easy to keep filled and at home on any sideboard. Make sure the stated capacity fits your formats, since it usually refers to robustos and coronas. More important than size are a full Spanish cedar lining and a tight-fitting lid.
"For 25 cigars" is a guide figure. Makers usually calculate with mid-size formats such as robusto or corona. If you mostly smoke thick or long cigars, fewer will fit; with small formats, more.

Ring gauge in 1/64 inch: 50 is about 2 cm (0.78 in) in diameter. Typical ranges; they vary by maker.
With long formats such as the Churchill, inner length decides: the cigar has to lie flat without touching the wall. Check before buying that your longest cigar fits.
A humidor keeps its climate most stable when it is well filled. A lot of empty air inside means more volume to humidify and bigger swings. Rule of thumb: choose the size your collection will have in six months, not the one you dream of. If you regularly store well over 30 cigars, go one size up.

A divider splits the interior into two compartments. Different brands or strengths stay apart and you find the right cigar faster. Flavored cigars belong in their own compartment or humidor, because their aroma can transfer to other cigars.
