Collecting chestnuts is the easy part. Kastelli helps with the next one: 51 figures, each with materials, tools and a picture of every building step, so the basket of chestnuts actually turns into something.

iPhone
The start screen shows every figure with a picture, difficulty and building time. You can search by name or by material: if all you have is acorns and beechnuts, you see what you can make with them.
Filters by group, the saved list and “Can make” narrow things down further.

iPhone
Every figure has its own page: picture, difficulty, building time, the supplies with quantities and the tools. Before you start, you know whether you have everything.
Each figure comes as a drawing and as a sample photo. One tap switches between them.

iPhone
The exploded view pulls the figure apart. Dashed lines show where each part goes, and the numbers match the materials list below.
Kids in particular see at a glance how the parts turn into the figure.

iPhone
The picture guide shows one step at a time, large enough to read from the craft table. One tap takes you to the next step.
While the guide is open, the screen stays on. No unlocking with sticky fingers.

iPhone
In the supplies list you check off what you have at home: toothpicks, googly eyes, pipe cleaners. Kastelli then shows which figures you can make right away.
For the figures you pick, the shopping list collects what is still missing. Chestnuts, acorns, leaves and twigs you gather outside.

iPhone
All figures are built to stand up for real: on four legs, sitting, on a twig bench or in a skirt made of construction paper.
The chestnuts are never reshaped. All you need is what you find under the trees in fall.
Kastelli is a craft guide for iPhone, made for fall. 51 chestnut figures in seven groups: animals, creepy-crawlies, birds, water animals, people, fantasy creatures and vehicles. You get the classics like the chestnut man, hedgehog and spider, plus a dragon, unicorn, robot, sailboat and chestnut train.
Every figure comes with a materials list with quantities, the tools you need, an exploded view with numbered parts, and a guide in which every step has its own picture.
The guides are written so kids can read along, and the pictures show every move. One step belongs in adult hands, though: pre-drilling the holes with an awl or hand drill. Chestnuts are smooth and hard, and the tip slips easily.
The basics in the app explain how to collect and store chestnuts, how deep to drill and what to watch out for with small children. The guide How to make chestnut figures covers this in more detail.
Most figures need the same small things: toothpicks, matchsticks, googly eyes, pipe cleaners, yarn, craft glue. In the supplies list you check off what you have. From that, Kastelli shows which figures you can make without going shopping.
For everything else there is the shopping list. It collects the missing supplies for the figures you have picked. Natural materials like chestnuts, acorns, beechnuts, leaves and twigs are not on it. Those you find outside.
You can make ten figures right away without a purchase, including the chestnut man and the hedgehog. A one-time purchase unlocks all figures, including every figure added later.

Every figure is laid out as a drawing, step by step. On top of that there are sample photos of the finished figure and the building steps. These photos are AI-generated, and the app says so under every picture. You build from the guide, and it works with real chestnuts picked up from the ground.
