About Us
The Brand
Brock Design started with a single object: the Tobacor Humidor, Spanish cedar inside, high-gloss burl wood outside. In June 2026, the first own iOS app followed — a padel scorekeeper. Ten apps have followed since, nine of them live on the App Store.
"Design is not what you see. Design is what you feel."
The object and the software have little in common — the standard does. A humidor that can't hold humidity is just a wooden box. An app that solves a task only halfway is just another icon on the screen. Both are built to make you want to use them, even the tenth time around.
Our Philosophy
Precision
Where something can be measured, it is not estimated. And where data is missing, we say so instead of inventing a number.
Completeness
A task is solved completely or not at all. Half-finished features that need manual fixing later are out of the question.
Durability
What is built today should still work in five years — for the humidor as much as for the app.
What's Next
Three more apps are in development: a training log with weight suggestions, the official exam questions for the German recreational boating licence, and an app that measures joint angles from a photo. Their pages already describe what they'll do.
The Founder
Behind Brock Design is Johann Brockstedt, based in Flintbek, Schleswig-Holstein. Development, design and writing all happen here — with no agency in between. That's why the apps ask for no account and show no ads: there's no one around to insist on either.
