Timetable as a table

Sylt Autozüge is also available for Android: both car trains between Niebüll and Westerland in one departure board, with the same features as the iPhone app. How the schedule, check-in and seasonal rules fit together is explained in detail on the app's main page — this page is about the Android version.

What the Android app shows

  • One departure board for both trains — the red DB Sylt Shuttle and the blue RDC Autozug, color-coded and sorted by time, in both directions.
  • The next departure first, with a countdown “in X minutes”; the “Now” button jumps back to the next train, and scrolling up shows trains that have already left.
  • Reported delays from both operators: the scheduled time is struck through and the countdown uses the new one.
  • Any day via arrows or calendar, including weekday and seasonal rules.
  • Book with the operator — in a window inside the app or externally in your browser.
  • Works offline, the schedule is kept up to date automatically; light and dark.

All departure times as a table – both trains, both directions, summer and winter timetable with operating days.

Check-in reminders

In a train's sheet you set a reminder 5 to 60 minutes before check-in closes. The first time, Android asks whether the app may send notifications; without that permission everything else works as usual. With delay display turned on, the reminder takes a reported delay into account and the app lets you know.

Requirements

The app runs on Android phones with Android 8.0 or later in portrait mode and is free on Google Play. When a newer version is out, the app tells you; updates come through Google Play.

Direction by location

In the info screen you can turn on that the app picks the right direction when it opens — “To Niebüll” on Sylt, “To Sylt” on the mainland. It's off at first; the check happens only on your device, and your location is neither stored nor transmitted.

Independent

Sylt Autozüge is an independent app and not an official app of DB Fernverkehr AG or RDC Autozug Sylt GmbH. The time shown is the check-in deadline; the train leaves a few minutes later. Delays are what the operators report, not live train tracking. How the app handles data: privacy policy (in German).
